- Abstract
This essay discusses Spanish soldier, explorer and writer Alvar Núñez Cabeza de Vaca and the Native American story of the Mala Cosa. The author comments on the history of the Christian healers, miracles and ethnology. Native American magic, folklore, and mythology are explored. Other topics include indigenous peoples of Mexico and the Coahuiltecan people of North America.
