- Abstract
The article focuses on the significance of the myth, poetry and romance represented by Vedute Della Camera's photographs of the 19th century view of Italy. It includes the variety of inspirational romanticism of Italianate poetics as well as Romantics like Byron, Madame de Staël and Poe who symbolized in the picturesque elegy of regret over lost grandeurs. It mentions the contribution of photographic artist like Alinari in Florence, MacPherson and Altobilli in Rome and Ponti in Venice to the industry for the work of the poetry of Childe Harold, the fictional book "The Marble Fun" and the music of Lelio or Benvenuto Cellini. Afterwards, the need for photographic studios that makes a monumental topographic views began to decrease as the hand camera was introduced in the market.
