- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a 66 year-old man with a complicated medical history including diabetes mellitus, hypertension, and endstage renal disease on home dialysis through an arteriovenous (AV) fistula. He was presented to the emergency department with a two-day history of progressive shortness of breath, odynophagia and mental status changes. The case shows a potential complication of central venous catheterization in patients with AV graft or fistula placement for hemodialysis.
