- Title
Designing the Forum to Fit the Fuss: Dispute System Design for the State Trial Courts.
- Authors
Fader, Hallie
- Abstract
The article looks at state courts and suggests reforms in the systems using the structure of Dispute System Design (DSD). A discussion on the seven-step DSD process is presented including doing a self-assessment and presenting the findings to the leadership. The author notes that judges, attorneys and community members are bringing Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and problem solving innovations to the courts in order to make the courts more efficient in meeting perceived societal needs. A suggested design process for state courts is also presented.
