- Abstract
The article offers information on the importance of fee-for-service Medicare. It mentions that it has spill-over effects from Health Maintenance Organization (HMO). HMO have the most restrictive terms for allowing patients to seek care out of plan and in permitting unchained decisions in the care giver's part. It notes that due to continuous drive toward greater managed care penetration, people should understand the degree of choices of those who do not want to receive care in an HMO setting.
