- Title
The UK economy.
- Abstract
The article offers an economic forecast of the U.K. economy, as of July 2007. According to the report, U.K.'s GDP for 2007 will continue to expand strongly but consumer spending growth will remain quiet. The house-price inflation is expected to slow from 10.2 percent for 2007 to 3.3 percent in 2008 and 2.3 percent in 2009. It states that one more quarter-point rise in the base rate should ensure that inflation is around the target over the medium term. It also reports that the current budget in the public finances will not return to surplus until 2010 to 2011.
