- Abstract
In the province of Quebec, religious communities have undergone major changes for a number of years, and some have been subject to a drastic drop in their membership. This situation has fostered many different heritage practices which tend to underscore the heritage aspects of religious communities. This article addresses the conversion of convent properties from the viewpoint of heritage and land planning. Through the case study of the historic designated district of Sillery (Quebec City), the article explores the interpretations of religious communities' heritage arising from the conversion of convent properties.
