- Title
"BEING AND TIMELESSNESS": EDITH STEIN'S CRITIQUE OF HEIDEGGERIAN TEMPORALITY.
- Authors
Orr, James
- Abstract
An essay that challenges the coherence of revisionism of German philosopher Martin Heidegger and his corollary critique of the alleged antipathy to time in Christian theology is presented. Topics discussed include the historical background to the time-philosophical approaches adopted by Heidegger and Edith Stein, a Carmelite spiritual writer. Also mentioned are Heidegger's account of temporality in polemical contradistinction as well as Stein's theological engagement with Heidegger.
