- Abstract
Mulk Raj Anand is no vulnerability an essayist, with a ton of social commitment. A distinct examination of his books and works reveals his enthusiasm to uncover evident reality of society. In Untouchable, the matter of significant concern is the awful and revolting evil of inaccessibility present in the Indian culture especially in Hindus and has shown us that how significant set up it is. The tortures and the circumstance of untouchables is inventively portrayed in his novel. In this setting E.M. Forster, who made introduction out of the novel, says: The Sweeper [untouchable in this case] is more awful than a slave, for the slave may change his ruler and his commitments and may even become free, but the sweeper is bound forever, born into a state from which he can't move away and where he is dismissed from social intercourse and consolations of his religion. Unclean himself, he dirties others when he contacts them. They need to cleanse themselves, and to change their game plans for the day. Thus, he is upsetting similarly as nauseating thing to regular as he walks around the public roads, and it is his commitment to call out and alert them that he is coming.
