- Title
A Roundtable Response by Donald B. Freeman.
- Abstract
The author of the book "The Pacific" responds to scholarly criticisms and reviews of his work. Some of the topics considered include limits placed on the book's scope by Geoffrey Scammell, editor of the book series Seas in History Series, the book's intended audience of popular readership, and limits placed on the length of the book by its contract which called for a 120,000 word limit which also included bibliographic information. Subjects explored include cultural identity, prehistoric human migration routes, and Eurocentrism.
