- Abstract
The article presents legal developments in marketing relating to the regulation of product characteristics. Regarding product quality and safety standards, a case involving Champion Home Builders Co. and the United States Federal Trade Commission (FTC) requirements for the reliability, durability and performance of products is discussed. Regarding credit terms and conditions of sale, a case involving Hosiery Corporation of America Inc. and the FTC's Mail Order Rule and its requirements for mail order selling. A case involving Fred Meyer Inc. pertaining to credit balances in retail charge accounts is also discussed.
