- Authors
Werner, Ray O.; Reinecke, John A.
- Abstract
The article presents legal developments in marketing related to the regulation of product characteristics. Regarding product standards, the case "United Kosher Butchers Assn. v. Associated Synagogues of Greater Boston, Inc.," is discussed, involving the withdrawal of the kosher meat dealers' certification as a preparer of foods meeting the kosher standards prescribed by Jewish law. Regarding packaging and conditions of sale, the case "Benrus Watch Company, Inc. v. Federal Trade Commission," is discussed, in which the court upheld the findings of deceptive "preticketing" by the United States Federal Trade Commission.
