- Abstract
The article presents information on legal developments in marketing pertaining to the regulation of price competition. The author presents the case of United States Federal Trade Commission v. Standard Oil Co., in which a large oil retailer was classified as a distributor and accused of price discrimination. Also presented are the cases of Johnson and Johnson Inc. v. G. E. M. Sundries Co. Inc., and Sunbeam Corp. v. Gem Jewelry Co. Inc., in which the issue of resale price maintenance is addressed.
