The article discusses the Nation of Islam (Black Muslims) organization's prison organizing activities in twentieth century America, and it mentions the legal rights of prisoners in places such as Mississippi, a black freedom social movement, and the concept of black nationalism. Prisoners' radicalism and prison repression are addressed, along with the suppression of Islam, the SaMarion v. McGinnis prisoners' rights case, and Muslim religious practices and rituals in prisons.
