- Abstract
The research developed is based on a 54-year-old female patient, who was admitted to the emergency room due to COVID-19, presenting respiratory distress, with supplemental oxygen with a reservoir mask at 15 liters per minute. After failure of non-invasive mechanical ventilation, orotracheal intubation was performed. After six days with mechanical ventilatory support, she presented signs of infection associated with mechanical ventilation due to acinetobacter baumannii. Thirteen days later the endotracheal tube is removed, and a tracheostomy is placed. An individualized care plan is drawn up aimed at identifying the problems of the patient who evolves from a critical situation to a terminal one. The investigation is described.
