- Abstract
This study aims to analyze the way school age kids' acquisition of conjunctions in Turkish, their values and usages on cognitive, enunciative and pragmatic basis within the framework of Antoine Culioli's notion concept and linguistic operations revealed. The sample of the research consists of school age kids' that study in the first class of public primary schools in the province of Erzurum. The data were collected through voluntary participation of 5 female and 5 male children in the interviews and dialogues that last 30 minutes, which took place seperately with each group from both class of schools. Content analysis was used for data and descriptive scale was employed. The conjuctions of opposition and concession, cause, comparison and argumentative were analyzed and their values from different perspectives were interpreted. The findings of the study reveal that school age kids' can use each conjunction as much adequately and efficiently as adults. It is also emphasized that age and gender are not of importance in the use of conjunctions and that the utterance conditions determine the use of conjunctions.
