- Abstract
The article reports that French author François Hédelin, abbé d'Aubignac declares as an indisputable maxim that is learned in Dramatic Poetry, except with the help of the Ancients. Topics include ancient authors in "La Pratique du théâtre" constitute an attempt on the part of d'Aubignac to demonstrate for ancient practice; and examine d'Aubignac's attitude towards Antiquity and to demonstrate how the abbé tries to establish himself as the undisputed monarch to be a scholar in dramaturgy.
