Christian Numerology and Shakespeare's "The Tragedy of King Richard the Second."
- Authors
Hunt, Maurice
- Abstract
Presents literary criticism of the book "The Tragedy of King Richard the Second" by William Shakespeare. It discusses the multiple use of the age of Christ by Shakespeare at his death, thirty-three, to concentrate the question of whether King Richard, who died at 33, is a figure of Christ. It highlights Shakespeare who demonstrates that the inability of the former king to reconcile particular biblical passages rules out his being a Christ figure.
