- Abstract
The article discusses the tradition of short stories, vignettes, and micro-narratives in the Río de la Plata region of Argentina and Uruguay. The author discusses the works of several preeminent Argentine authors, including Jorge Luis Borges and Julio Cortázar. The author presents a literary comparison between “Los papeles salvajes” by Marosa di Giorgio and “Papeles de Recienvenido, Papeles de Buenos Aires” by Macedonio Fernández. The article mentions the surge in popularity that micronarratives have experienced as relating to the growth in consumer-focused culture.
