Title
Community matron targets questioned.
Abstract
The article reports that strategic health authorities (SHAs) and primary care trusts (PCTs) across England have warned the British Department of Health that the recruitment of 3,000 community matrons to meet government target is not beneficial. The SHAs and PCTs stressed that having 3,000 community matrons would not produce the right skill mix. Instead, they proposed a combination of case managers and community matrons.
