- Abstract
The article discusses Native American tribal authority in relation to the protection of water resources and reserved rights under Section 401 of the U.S. Clean Water Act. Tribal sovereignty is addressed, along with the U.S. government's trust responsibility to Indian tribes. The potential impact of pollution discharge on tribal waters is examined, as well as veto authority, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the protection of American water quality.
