- Abstract
An essay is presented on gender roles and transnational law as of June 2011, focusing on a shift in the views towards gender and the feminists idea of what international law is. The historical structure of family law is examined, including British jurist William Blackstone's development of a distinction between public and private morals. The traditional familial hierarchy of parents, children, and servants is also mentioned.
