- Abstract
The article examines the development of the commercial speech doctrine for analyzing Virginia's happy hour advertising restrictions is in violation with U.S. Constitution First Amendment. Topics include history of commercial speech protection under the First Amendment; Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corp. v. Public Service Commission case, in which the court laid out test for determining when restrictions on commercial speech violated the Amendment; and theories of commercial speech protection.
