- Abstract
The article discusses the impact of multilingualism in the Ottoman Balkans on the syntax and semantics of Balkan languages. Topics discussed include the history of the West Rumelian Turkish (WRT) that is commonly spoken in the western Balkans and the two domains of Gjorgji Pulevski's syntax including possessive constructions and nominal compounds, and multiply-marked relative clauses. Also mentioned are three unique features of the WRT identified in Pulevski's work.
