- Abstract
The article discusses the role that music played in the cultural and ethnic relations between people of the Balkan Peninsula from the late 1980s through the early 2010s. Particular focus is given to the participation in Croatian music festivals of the Slavonian Tambura Society "Pajo Kolarić" of Osijek, Croatia. The history of tambura music ensembles in the Balkan Peninsula from the 18th century through the early 21st century is discussed.
