- Abstract
The article presents a study on a community needs assessment (CNA) for two coastal villages in Guatemala to identify factors that influence the balance between sustainable human communities and productive marine ecosystems. Topics include the objectives of the Marine Ecosystem Health and Well-Being (MarWeb) project and the Japanese Sato-umi concept. Also mentioned are project recommendations, including facilitating healthier lifestyle, protecting lagoon waters and coordinating eco-tourism.
