- Abstract
Https://doi.org/10.1093/ced/llad004 Graph: Figure 1 (a) Histopathological investigation of a skin lesion from a 29-year-old pregnant woman with primary cutaneous CD4+ small/medium T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder (PCSM-TCLPD) showing dense infiltration of small-to-medium-sized pleomorphic mononuclear cells in the dermis (haematoxylin-eosin stain, × 200); (b) immunohistochemistry using an antibody against CD4 revealed that the neoplastic cells strongly expressed CD4 (× 100). For example, pregnancy has been observed in association with HTLV-1-associated adult T-cell leukaemia/lymphoma, natural killer (NK)/T-cell lymphoma, anaplastic-cell lymphoma and cytotoxic lymphomas.[4] Of note, CD4 SP + sp T helper lymphocyte 2 dominancy is very important for achieving a successful pregnancy and the number of NK cells, cytotoxic and helper T cells in the placenta are known to increase during pregnancy.
