- Abstract
The article focuses on a study which offers a comparison of low glycemic index and staged portio-controlled diets in improving body mass index (BMI) of obese children in a pediatric weight management program. Researchers evaluated the data of children seen at the Center for Better Health and Nutrition from October 1, 2009 to March 1, 2010, including their BMI, blood pressure, and number of exercise visits. The study affirmed the feasibility of implementing a low glycemic index diet (LGD) in a pediatric weight management program.
