An interview with J. John Mann, Columbia University's Paul Janssen Professor Translational Neuroscience in Psychiatry and Radiology, is presented. Some of the issues he addressed include the suicide trends among middle-aged individuals, the role of primary care physicians in preventing suicides, the screening tools for suicide behavior and what physicians can do when they identified patients at risk.
