- Authors
Detry, Michelle A.; Lewis, Roger J.
- Abstract
The article discusses a study published within the issue which compared transfusion thresholds of 10 and 7 gram/deciliter (g/dL) an administration of erythropoietin versus placebo in patients with anemia and traumatic brain injury. Topics covered include the use of the intention-to-treat (ITT) principle to determine the effectiveness of the therapy, the limitations of the ITT analysis, and issues to consider when looking at results based on ITT, such as assessing the safety of interventions.
