- Abstract
The article discusses the role of the ultrasound guided Peripheral Nerve Anesthesia (PNA), during the surgery of lower extremities. General anesthesia (GA) or neuroaxial anesthesia (NA) during procedures have associated risk factors such as complications, immobilization and prolonged hospitalization with increased costs. Topics discussed include advantages of PNA, its techniques and PNA as an alternative to GN or NA.
