- Title
Metal-oxide interfaces: Where the action is.
- Authors
Stair, Peter C.
- Abstract
The article presents the author's insights on the study regarding the interface reaction of metal and oxide conducted by research group headed by Gabor Somorjai and Peidong Yang at the University of California, Berkeley. He mentions that the group conducted the study by preparing catalyst with the presence of platinum (Pt) nanoparticle and with the interface combination of Pt, silicon (Si) and cerium (Ce). He explores the catalytic activity properties of the research, in which he states that the research does not answer the question regarding the difference of catalyst selectivity concerning the interface combination with other interfaces. He says that a novel chemistry investigation regarding the reaction of the combination interface is suggested by the study.
