- Abstract
The article examines the ambiguity and complexity of the landscape of South African in connection with its inhabitants' history by looking at architectural interventions and projects. The projects examined include: Rich Martins Associates' design for Mandela's Yard Interpretation Centre; GAPP and MMA Architects' Maropeng Museum of Paleontology; and the Sophiatown Living Landscapes Project.
