- Abstract
This article discusses the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the diagnosis of tuberculosis (TB) and TB infection in South America, Asia, and Africa. The pandemic led to disruptions in healthcare services, including the closure of health units and limited patient access. As a result, the number of TB cases diagnosed decreased in 2020 compared to 2019. However, there was no significant decrease in newly diagnosed TB infections. The study emphasizes the need for further monitoring as an increase in TB cases may be expected in the future.
