Some of his works standing somewhere in between the genre of a novel and a story yet are accepted mostly as novels are well known both by the Turkish and worldwide readers. Those novels, some of which were captured by cinema films (e.g., Gol Kralı, Zübük, Tatlı Betüş and Yaşar Ne Yaşar Ne Yaşamaz) are the examples of social criticism in general. On the other hand, "Düğümlü Mendil", a detective novel, with no connection to social criticism and written with a pen name, is little known by the Turkish readers. This study carried out on 'Düğümlü Mendil" aims to show a different side of the author while introducing the novel to the readers in detail.
