- Abstract
The article focuses on the Johnson County Range War. In 1892, tensions emerged between large cattle ranchers and small homesteaders. Investments into open range cattle ranches came from the East Coast and Europe with investors receiving the assurance of riskless but substantial returns. The 1886-1887 winter impacted the cattle industry that led members of the Wyoming Stock Growers' Association to invade Buffalo.
