- Authors
Verginella, Marta
- Abstract
The article discusses the importance of the date September 8, 1943, in the memory of the Slovenian people. The date marks the armistice under which Italy capitulated to the Allies in World War II and created a pause in the events of the war. The document meant the end of the Italian occupation of the province of Ljubljana, Slovenia, and the return of Slovenian natives from Italian internment camps together with flight of Italian soldiers northward. The contents of published and unpublished testimonies about the signal date are cited.
