- Authors
WISEMAN, HANNAH J.
- Abstract
The article discusses the reported risks associated with hydraulic fracturing (fracking) in America as of June 2013, focusing on oil and gas development in the U.S., environmental concerns regarding chemicals and water quality, and the adequacy of regulatory response to fracking-related issues. The slickwater fracturing process, which reportedly began in the late 1990s, deals with oil and gas extractions in shales, sandstones, and coalbeds. Natural gas extraction is also mentioned.
