- Abstract
The article discusses significance of the idea of visuality in western American literature. It states use of visuality by writer Nicholas Mizroeff, citing his identification of three major complexes of visuality, and mentions that engaging visuality in the literature also means engaging with a wide range of forms, such as pictographs and pictographic calendars. It notes imagination of visuality from multiple Indigenous perspectives by scholars like Susan Bernardin.
