- Abstract
This document is a commentary in response to a doctor's interest in a previous work. The authors agree with the doctor's observation that higher levels of troponins can be expected in patients with both acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and Takotsubo syndrome (TTS). They provide details about a specific case, including the release of troponin and NT-proBNP, as well as the presence of myocardial edema. The authors also discuss the electrocardiogram changes and the challenges in diagnosing the concurrent occurrence of AMI and TTS. They emphasize the importance of recognizing that both diseases can occur simultaneously. The document concludes with the authors' contributions and a statement of no competing interests.
