- Title
Enzymatic glycosynthesis GeTs better.
- Authors
Davis, Benjamin G.
- Abstract
The article presents the author's comments on studies related to the use of biocatalysts for glycoside bond formation as a strategy in chemical synthesis. Referring to a study by G.J. Williams, he says that its importance lies in the inherent biocatalytic function of enzymes for the synthesis of carbohydrate-containing enzymes. He comments that Williams' work demonstrates the evolution of the GT-B subfamily, a group of proteins characterized structurally by the presence of two domains.
