- Authors
McGinley, Ali
- Abstract
The article emphasizes the need to apply the international principles of equality and non-discrimination to the immigration detention system of Great Britain. It states the United Nations (UN) Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against women (CEDAW) and the UN Rules on the Treatment of Women Prisoners and Non-custodial Measures for Women Offenders. An example shows absence of a dedicated gender-sensitive policy for female detainees in the country.
