- Abstract
The article discusses the implications of supraphysiological testosterone supplementation. Testosterone deficiency is common among aging men and can cause various symptoms. Hormone replacement therapy with testosterone is recommended by professional society guidelines to treat symptomatic testosterone deficiency. However, supraphysiological testosterone therapy, which involves correcting testosterone levels to levels higher than the normal range, is not recommended and can have adverse effects. The article emphasizes the need for individualized approaches to testosterone deficiency treatment and cautions against the use of supraphysiological testosterone levels until more evidence is available.
