- Title
Compliance Issues in Glaucoma Management.
- Authors
Anraku, Ayako; Buys, Yvonne M.
- Abstract
The article discusses compliance issues in the management of glaucoma, chronic ocular disease that requires a lifelong treatment and care to minimize optic nerve damage and visual field loss. Poor compliance in glaucoma management may result in uncontrolled intraocular pressure (IOP) and may mislead physicians to the efficiency of the medication regimen. Patient questionnaires, electronic medication monitors and prescription refill rates are some of the direct method to measure medical compliance.
