The article discusses the mistreatment meted out towards Australian child actors who were working under Arthur Pollard's juvenile opera company in the year 1910. It outlines the legal procedure of Emigration Bill that prevents anyone taking a child out of Australia to perform theatrical, operatic, or other work. The article also explores the theatrical and social contexts in the history of theater when child protagonists contributed to the musical comedy of Edwardian era.
