- Abstract
The article examines the depiction of the concept of emigration in Irish novelist John Banville's Benjamin Black novels. It explores the relevance of the novels in exploring the transnational identities of what he calls the New Irish. The plot and settings of his novels that include "Christine Falls," "The Lemur," and "Silver Swan" are also examined.
