- Abstract
The article looks at the progress of the World Health Assembly (WHA) in eradicating dracunculiasis globally. Dracunculiasis is a parasitic infection caused by Guinea worm. The failure of WHA to eradicate dracunculasis globally by 1995 and 2009 is explained. The number of indigenous cases of dracunculiasis worldwide is presented. Guinea worm disease is endemic in Ethiopia, Ghana, Mali and Sudan.
