- Abstract
The article discusses four cases of malaria on the island of Great Exuma in Bahamas for the period covering May to June 2006. A man from the U.S. received a diagnosis of malaria in a hospital in Virginia on May 24. He had intermittent fever, sweats, abdominal discomfort, nausea and vomiting which begun during a visit to Great Exuma in May where he stayed in a resort hotel. A 29-year-old woman received a diagnosis of Plasmodium falciparum malaria in a hospital in Germany. She experienced symptoms such as fever, headache, nausea and vomiting in May after a visit to Great Exuma.
