- Abstract
The article discusses the study on the extraction of allyl isothiocyanate (AITC) from horseradish and its fumigant insecticidal activity on four stored-product pests of paddy. Methyl bromide and phosphine fumigant pesticides is applied to control pests in products stored for many years. The results indicate that AITC-containing plant materials can be possible options to chemical fumigants versus major insect pests in stored products as a safe and environmentally beneficial insecticidal agent.
