- Abstract
The inclusion of students with disabilities in regular schools is a challenge, not only for students with disabilities, but also for teachers who often feel unprepared to develop an inclusive higher education methodology. This article aims to present the creation of an adapted model of the periodic table for visually impaired students in Science teaching in the city of Carutapera/MA. Accompanied by a construction manual for the adapted resource and guidelines for its application in the classroom, this adapted model proves to be a pedagogical tool for teachers and a learning support for students with visual impairments. The research was carried out based on a bibliographic review and addressed the legal foundations of Special Education and didactic resources adapted for students with visual impairments. The analysis of the collected material consisted of the complete reading of the articles and the categorization of the articles with a similar theme to the work. The creation of the model adapted from the periodic table aims to provide equal opportunities in the construction of knowledge, overcoming challenges and promoting education for all.
